DriftFrame turns an iPad into a photo frame. Your photos and videos stay on your device and on your own network. This page says exactly what that means, including the few cases where something does leave your iPad.
DriftFrame is published by BTLTech Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 13311691. Registered office: 161 The Vale, London W3 7RD, United Kingdom. ("we", "us"). For anything in this policy, email support@myrepairflow.com or call 020 8746 0193.
We are the data controller for the little information you send us directly, such as a support email. We are not a controller of your photos, videos or settings: those stay on your device, and we have no way to reach them.
| Stays on your iPad | Photos and videos you import, the app's settings, face and scene analysis, camera images used for gestures or presence, sunrise and sunset times, and the local diagnostics log. |
|---|---|
| Leaves your iPad | Photos and videos sent to your own paired iPads over your local network when you use DriftFrame Wall; media sent to your iPad by Wi-Fi Transfer; your approximate location to Open-Meteo if you turn on weather; a photo's coordinates to Apple if you show where a photo was taken. |
| Never collected | No account, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and no servers of ours that receive your media. |
When you pair iPads as a wall, the primary sends the photos and videos it is showing, with their timing, to your companion iPads over your local network, so every screen shows the same thing. This traffic goes directly between your own devices. It does not go over the internet, and it does not pass through us. Pairing requires a code shown on the primary.
Wi-Fi Transfer runs a small web server on your iPad so you can send photos to it from a phone or computer on the same network. Every upload requires the six-digit code shown on the iPad. Nothing is uploaded to the internet.
If you turn on the weather display, DriftFrame sends your approximate location, rounded to about one kilometre, to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) to fetch the forecast. Nothing identifying you is sent with it: no name, no account, no device identifier. Open-Meteo is operated in the European Union. If you never turn weather on, no location is ever sent.
If photo information is set to show where a photo was taken, that photo's coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service to turn them into a place name. Turning off Show Location in Settings stops this.
If you choose to follow an Apple Shared Album, your device talks to Apple's servers through Apple's own frameworks to fetch those photos. We do not sit in the middle of that and never see the album or its contents.
If your iPad is enrolled with an employer or school through Mobile Device Management, your administrator can set some DriftFrame options remotely, such as Kiosk Mode or the Settings PIN. DriftFrame reads those settings from iOS. Ask your administrator what they have configured.
Where DriftFrame processes personal data on your device, it does so to provide the display you asked for, which is performance of our agreement with you and our legitimate interest in the app working. The optional features that send anything outside your device — weather and photo place names — run only if you switch them on, and you can switch them off at any time. Support emails are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you.
Your media stays on your device until you remove it. Settings → Delete Imported Media removes everything DriftFrame has imported. Deleting the app removes its storage entirely. Because we hold none of it, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your question.
DriftFrame is a photo frame and collects no personal information from anyone, at any age, and shows no advertising. It is suitable for family use. It does not ask for an age or an account.
Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask for access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing. In practice we hold almost nothing: your photos, videos and settings never reach us. For anything we do hold, such as an email you sent us, write to support@myrepairflow.com and we will answer within one month.
If you are in the UK and are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. In the EU you can complain to your national data protection authority.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we have not done so in the preceding twelve months. We do not collect personal information for advertising or profiling. The rights to know, delete and correct apply to the limited information described above.
If DriftFrame starts doing something new with data, this page changes before that version ships, and the date at the top changes with it.
